Lafe is married to Roberto and the mother of three adult children, Grandmother of 3 beautiful granddaughters and proud owner of 2 American Pit Bull Terriers. She is a member of the Progress Village Foundation Board of Directors, Finance and Fundraising and International Order of the Easter Stars, Florida.
Lafe Eastman has been active in the field of Family and Workforce Development for over 27 years. Known for her expertise in workforce, financial management and youth development. She is the CEO of E.K.G. Career Development Consultants LLC and Eastmans Notary Mobile Notary and Binding Services. Her motto is Collaboration not Competition.
Educational experience: Springfield College Tampa Campus earning a Master’s in Adolescent Addictions and Organizational Management and Leadership and competing the Graduate program at University of Tampa earning a Certification Non-Profit Management.
Experience for over 31 years of management in procurement, purchasing, program design, financial literacy, youth and family development, and community development with Hillsborough County Parks Recreational and Conservation Department for a 300,000 square ft. facility of programming and services for community and family support. Additional experience as an Assistance Facility Administrative for Pasco Girls Academy. Responsibility included effective communication with the Department of Juvenile Justice. JPO, Judicial Courts, Case managers, Therapist, Medical and relevant Education partners. Core Value: Accurately maintained court order activities of the youth and facility issues. Assisted families to identify the mental, social, physical, and financial assistance they need to move forward with confidence. Manage Treatment Team for support services to detained youth.
Current work experience as the Director of Business Development and Community Engagement for the CDC of Tampa, Inc. includes managing over $100,000,000 of grant funding to support Workforce Development, Certifications in Trades, and Job Placement Trainings. This includes community partnering with over 34 local employers and resource centers, reporting, procurement, and program management.
